I have read in a number of books that there was a proposal to convert the MiG-29M into a reconnaissance version - MiG-29MR. Does anybody know if this actually got to the design/drawing stage? Was it supposed to have internal sensors, like the MiG-25R, or podded sensors? Even though financial difficulties have prevented the real project from going further, I would like to build a model of one.

I've googled a bit without results. Only a citation without explanations or images. I think it doesn't exist.

I know the actual airplane doesn't exist. I was hoping that the proposal had actually made it to the drawing stage, so I could build a "what-if" model.
