Some great pictures from a Yak-1 in restoration.
I'm not sure if it''s already published here. Huh

I had seen some of this, but it's been awhile.  I'd forgotten about it.  Thank you for posting, Michel!

Hi all,
truly wonderful!
By the way, if oil colors aren't for wood and DD-118 was introduced only in 1943, I wonder what was the grey inside the gear and tank bay.
The aileron is interesting because it shows traces of the original external paint. I suppose that originally they were black and green, but at present time the only green I see is under the chipping black paint.
The second one still preserves some zinc chromate parts. Not so good for camouflage, I guess.

Those are strange, Michel.  What interests me is that the fixed horizontal tailplane appears to be wooden - I thought the tailplanes were metal in the Yaks, and just the wings were all-wooden.

Perhaps when it hit the ground...

True... maybe they are provisional only?

I don't know if it's by hitting the ground because then the propellor wasn't moving then otherwise the other would hav it also. But it's the most plausible.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Hi,

seem that they going to paint all interior structures (framing, cockpit, wheel wells etc.) grey. Has it to be A-14?
