Pe-2 found in a lake

Interesting, something of the camouflage can still be recognized. That brown seems become yellow at all. I wait to see further photos of it.

Info about that plane from that page:
- serial no: 2/225,
- shot down on 2nd Dec 1943, landed on frozen lake Koshkajavr in Murmans region,
- Found and taken from the lake in 1996 and acquired by private collector from Norway,
- sent to military base Bodo, where air museum Norsk Luftfartsmuseum is located.
- effort to bring that plane to Czech Republic started 2 years ago.
One existing plane is in Monino and the second one is in Warszaw.

Looking at the photos, and bearing in mind the date, is it possible the 'light brown' is very weathered AMT-4 green, while the 'dark green' is weathered AMT-6 Black?

Or has just all the AMT-4 fallen off, and what is left is ALG-1?
Looking at the centre section, the only remaining paint seesm to be the light brown.


Just a thought looking at the photos.   Where's Konstantin;)

Hi,
I'm not Konstantin, but I don't think to see yellow in the scratches of the dark parts of the wings. If so, the paint was oil enamel sprayed on without a primer.

It looks as if the yellow was overposed to the dark color and give some protection.
It would be interesting to have the opinion of someone that examined it.
Chronologically, serie 205 (or the variant commonly referred as serie 205) was compatible both with the earlier black-green camo and with the later 3 shades one; besides the black-green camo could have been updated with brown and new style markings after August 1943.
Photos of later camouflaged planes show often the central part of the fuselage widely repainted light brown.

So, my idea is that the yellowish color is an altered light brown.
Interestingly, on this photo the light blue looks really greenish, somewhat as on Nakrasok alboom. It's the first piece I see that looks to confirm that look... of course, both paints are 70 years old.
