Here's a site I found which offers a large selection of paint masks, heavily oriented toward VVS aircraft:

http://www.photoka.info/t-ussr/index.htm

The left-hand column is canopy masks which include national insignia; the third column is individual aircraft marking masks for those who'd prefer to paint rather than apply decals. I haven't made contact with the site owner to determine prices, etc., yet, but I'll update the thread when I get more details.

(By the way, does anyone have a Maquette 1/72 Yak-7A they'd like to sell?)

The masks I mentioned in the previous post are manufactured by a Russian source called Hobby Plus. Here's the home page:

http://www.hobby-plus.narod.ru/color.htm

Here's the VVS masks page:

http://www.hobby-plus.narod.ru/ussr/index.htm

I'm trying to find out details about how to buy these; maybe someone who speaks Russian can help? There doesn't seem to be an English version of the site. Thanks very much, in advance!

I see nothing that indicates method of ordering/payment, anywhere on the site. Best advice is to send them почте (e-mail) hobbyplus@mail.ru
If you need a rudimentary translator that will get your point across try: http://www.online-translator.com/text.asp?lang=en
If you need a more precise translation that is fully understandable (like if there's a problem with an order) send me a private message with what you want translated and I'll get it done for you within a day  Wink.

The top of the page quoted just says
"Anything you are interested in but don't see here can be custom made in any scale if you have enough information - photos, drawings, schemes..."

This page should be easier to navigate - plane masks:
http://www.hobby-plus.narod.ru/rusmask72e.htm

paint:
http://www.hobby-plus.narod.ru/colweb/page_01.htm

elastic string for rigging:
http://www.hobby-plus.narod.ru/wire/index.htm

clear plastic nav lights:
http://www.hobby-plus.narod.ru/ano/index.htm

Dry transfer decals:
http://www.hobby-plus.narod.ru/dry/index.htm

sets of paints:

tank & other vehicle masks:

My experience with Travlenka responding to emails was quite good. Within 1 day of me emailing a query, they sent back the product photo I wished to see. I haven't tried ordering from them yet as I have been to busy with other stuff.
