I've noticed some differences in the shape and position of both the celluloid covered cut-outs and wire retraction openings located in I-16 wheel wells.  Did these vary by type?  Also, what color would the interior canopy framing be painted?  Is hard to tell from photos if they were the same color as the cockpit interior or the exterior of the aircraft.  Thanks for the help.

Hi,
about the frames: the outside is usually unpainted. It could easily be so for the inside too.
Regards

Looking back at my references the unpainted canopy frames are now obvious.  How I missed that detail I don't know.  Thanks Massimo!
