Help !
Having spent some time looking through the various threads on this site I have come up with the following for my Mig-3 build, which I will shortly be starting, comments and suggestions will be gratefully received.

Cockpit floor - A-14
Rear Fuselage interior ? Bare wood
Radio shelf - Olive Green (4BO) or AII green ?
Fuselage tubing ? Olive Green (4BO) or A-14
Fuselage sides - blue or A-14, if blue which blue
Instrument panel ? Photos show a light colour, but the black cover plate may be missing.
Seat Back - Olive Green (4BO)
Seat pan - aluminium or A-14
Control column ? silver or A-14
Canopy framing, internal ? A-14
Headrest ? Brown
Switch boxes ? Black
Radio boxes ? Grey or black

Undercarriage ?
Wheel hubs ? Green, will try the Xtracolor paint
Undercarriage ?legs? ? Underside colour or A-14 ?
Wheel wells ? Olive green or underside colour

Cheers

Dennis

Hi Dennis,
I would say: undercarriage legs and bays light blue;
seat lower part, bright green,
instrument panel: AE-9 for early planes, black for later ones
fuselage tubing, some very dark grey or green
radio shelf: unpainted wood with green contours (the same green of outside)
inside of fuselage panels: same blue of undersurfaces
floor: I don't know.
Of course, it is possible that not all the Mig were painted in the same way.
Regards
Massimo

Dennis, this is how i paint my MiG-3...

Cockpit floor - A-14
Rear Fuselage interior ? Bare wood
Radio shelf - A-14
Fuselage tubing ? A-14
Fuselage sides - A-14
Instrument panel ? I used Eduard PE for the insrument panels. Glossy black and some parts A-14
Seat Back - 4BO green
Seat pan - A-14
Control column ? A-14
Canopy framing, internal ? A-14
Headrest ? Brown
Switch boxes ? A14
Radio boxes ? A-14
Oxygene bottle- Blue
Compressed air bottle- Black

Undercarriage

The underside colour can be A II G light blue or AMT-7. This depends if you make a early or late version.

Wheel hubs ? 4BO green
Undercarriage ?legs? ? Underside colour, A-14 or even silver is a possibility. Not decided yet what to paint...
Wheel wells ? underside colour
Inside of wheel wells covers- Underside colour

Thank you very much for the information, it was your build that I got a lot of information from so it is great to see everything listed in one place, it certainly helps me and hopefully will help others as well.

No problem as soon as I have anything to show I will post it, but for now I have two more questions, the first one is the about the seat padding, was it brown leather of tan canvas, also I read somewhere that the Mig-3 seat belts were leather rather that material is this so ?

Cheers
