Looking forward to a future project I just want to check the kit paint schemes, are these accurate or realistic schemes ?

Cheers

Hi Dennis,
at a first glance, they look credible enough. The bibliograhy looks good (nearly all).
I haven't made deep researches on the subject, probably I'll do in the future but I can't promise a date.

Thank you Massimo, I hoped that would be the case.

Dennis

The schemes look believable, the place for this is here
http://airfield.narod.ru/yak/yak.html
if you look at the left side bar there are various links, keep goind down, it has Yak-1, 3, 7, 9...

on this page
http://airfield.narod.ru/yak/yak-1/yak-1_color3.html

there is white 5 with red nose.

either use translate, but just look for "фото"  means photo, as that is what makes this site amazing, as it has profiles and the photos they are taken from.

For example - white 5, which is the scheme I'd pick Roll Eyes

Лейтенант П.М. Чувелев возле своего Як-1Б. 427 ИАП. Август 1943 г

"Lieutenant PM Chuvelev near his Yak-1B. 427 IAP. August 1943"

Looks accurate to me, down to the note of light coloured cockpit framing.

I'm sure you could find the other schemes....  but I'm guessing white 5 is the one you'd pick?

Wow, thanks Troy, that site is amazing, and yes I had penciled in White 5 as one of my subjects, for a contrast the other kit will be built in the grey scheme.

Cheers

Hi,
seems that plane 5 should have a half-ball black blotch under the star on the left side of the fuselage. this is missing in the drawing.
Could have resemblance to these planes.

Hi, the photos of n.5, when compared to the drawing, show some differences:
1-the small black half-ball under the star on the left side;
2-the left side of the tail;
3-seems that the black band stops over the eagle.
We have to find other photos of this group of Yaks (I 've seen them somewhere) to understand if it is the same pattern of 5.
