Hi guys,

The MiG-3 build has come to an end, now its time for a new plane. The Scale bureau Yak-9U. I don't know very much about the Yak-9, so info about the plane is very welcome. I want to build No. 14 "Vakhtangovets".

Photo's about the landinggear, cockpit and the strange two thingies under the belly (as under the Yak-3) i would like to see... I don't know how they called.

Regards,

Remco

I can't help you on the "thingies", but I do look forward to the build, Remco!

HI Remco

extensive walkaround of the Yak-3 at Le Bourget here
http://scalemodels.ru/modules/photo/viewcat_cid_343.html

The bits you ask about are the outlets for the oil coolers I think.

some photos of a Yak-9P in Bulgaria here which may help
http://www.airgroup2000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=5887349

Did you get a copy of the Yak-9P/U book?

I think these are the oil cooler outlets indeed Troy. Thanks for the help. Well Jason, its my first resin plane. I am also looking forward on the build. I think its a quick build. Everything look pretty good. Maybe some cockpit modifications like wires.

Hi Remco,
have you checked the wingtips? I haven't that model kit, but I think to remember that they have an unappropriate rounded end.

I have checked the wingtips, and its the appropriate more flatted wingtip. Scale bureau did make some ajustments to the 48001 kit. The one reviewed was an "old" packing. In 2014 they made some ajustments to the kit. I have checked it for the quirks, but it seems fine...
