Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Hi,
this interesting picture was posted at VIF:

Seems to be scan of the original document. Note "Secret" written on the top right corner.
Individual ShAPs within 233 ShAD had to use following colors:
-62 ShAP red color,
- 198 ShAP blue color,
- 312 ShAP yellow color.

Intersting, not white but yellow.

Regards,

Fascinating, but a date would be helpful, particularly in view of the Luftwaffe use of yellow band around the rear fuselage as an identity marking.  Does this belong to a period where the Luftwaffe was no longer a significant force to be reckoned with, or is it a sign of ignorance in the higher command?

I've seen photos of Il-2 of 62 or 198 ShAP with the band on fuselage and the oblique white cap (black on winter camouflaged planes) datable to 1943 and 1944.
