Has anybody had any direct contact with Foxbot decals? Apparently "Foxbot," AKA Alexander Pavlygin, has designed artwork for Authentic Decals, so I'm assuming that either he's gone out on his own or there's still some connection with Authentic, about which I've read a number of less-than-positive user reviews. Two new 1/48 Foxbot sheets for late version Yak-9s have recently appeared, and they (especially the "Slogans" one) look very appealing. I'm just hoping that the quality will be better than what Authentic produces. Any feedback gratefully accepted.

Sorry -- didn't think of that. There are two sheets, which can be seen here
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Foxbot-48-006-Decal-for-Yak-9-Slogans-in-combat-1-48-NEW-/301848161348?hash=item46478d6c44:g:iroAAOSwKIpWCGTs

and here

If you go to eBay and do a search on Foxbot 00, you'll find other sheets 001 through 009 with subjects including Yak-1s, La-7s, Spitfires and Su-27s. Nothing comes up beyond 48-009.

Thaaaaat's better.  Nice looking stuff.  I suppose it's what they have to cost to make a profit, but man, decals sure seem expensive these days.

I received the sheet today that I had ordered several weeks ago (via eBay, mailed from the Ukraine). I bought sheet 48-006 "Yak-9: Slogans in combat." It looks to be very well printed -- good colors and everything in register. There are markings for 8 planes: 3 Yak-9Ms, 4 Yak-9Ts, and one Yak-9TD. (Am I right in thinking the TD didn't have the cockpit moved back?) Star styles include white bordered red, silver bordered red, and white bordered red/pink. The sheet also supplies a bunch of mostly red stencils that look quite crisp. The paint diagrams don't have the angular camouflage patterns, but the Modelsvit instructions do. If these decals behave as well as they look, this will be a sheet well worth buying IMHO.

Cheers,
Pip

the Yak-9TD is a Yak-9T with the wing of the Yak-9D.
early series Yak-9T only had 2 wing tanks (short range)
the D wing added 2 wing tanks and extended the range.
