Let me get the ball rolling with Soviet film chronicles about Khalkhyn Gol

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_Rs0BE7k8o&t=21s

I have noted the aviation parts

18 : 58 – 21 : 17

25 : 22 – 28 : 11 unfortunately some crude mock ups and staging also visible

36 : 11 – 36 : 50 medevac

Also 25 : 16 - 25 : 19 as well as at some other moments in the films aircraft do appear for a short time.

Hi,
speaking of images usable for profiles, the crudely camouflaged DC-3 of medevac looks the only interesting one.

Yes, the film is black and white and the aircraft look monochromatic – to make it short other than the crudely but interestingly camouflaged DC 3 not much reference material for model painting / aircraft profiles.

However there is IMHO still interesting stuff, for example:

Very dramatic images including aircraft going down in flames (19 : 42), wreckage of shot down aircraft (19 : 42 and other frames), a Soviet pilot coming down on a parachute (from 20 : 07 on) real action, real drama!

Soviet pilots with a lot of close ups on how for example their headgear and googles were worn while on the ground (20 : 53 – 20 : 57). Might be of interest when doing airmen figures.

One of my favourites 21 : 08  - 21 : 17 a captured Japanese fighter loaded on a truck. If this is not a great idea for a diorama I don’t know what is!

25 : 03 - 25 : 18 the arming of aircraft with bombs. Good visual reference material for anyone wanting to make a diorama or just know how it was actually done.

For those interested in Soviet amour:

24 :  24 – 24 : 30 armoured car and 24 : 46 – 25 : 00 BT tank maintenance. This is also good visual reference material on how work around a tank was actually done and some ideas for dioramas
