Hi all,
there is an interesting photo of a LaGG-3 with sharkmouth:

The link is on http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1505&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=740
where they give a link to another page where there is a better photo of the same plane:
http://female-heroes.mil.ru/
The second image itself is not easy to be linked, but can be found browsing those of the 156 IAP.
The plane looks of 1943 production, unfortunately only the nose is well visible and the bort number is unknown.
There are other photos of planes of the same unit without the sharkmouth, so it had to be an individual mark.

I vaguely remember a profile of EP with a sharkmouth attributed to the NN regiment, but this doesn't seem the case. Besides his profile was of a plane with 37 mm gun.

Regards

Hi,
thank you for the photo.
I've tried to darken the visible piece of the rear of the fuselage. I think to see something of the number. It could be 12.
On this photo one can see some light spot on the tail, I wonder if it is anything significant but it is very blurried.
I don't think to see anything on the photo showing the other side of the tail.
I wonder if anything is known on this plane from written sources or memoirs.

This aircraft commandant 156 Guards IAP p / p Egorova AS. He died on 30.09.43.
On September 31, 1943, his deputy Dolgushin SV was appointed in his place.

156 The GIAP was equipped with LaGG-3 aircraft from 17.02.41. Since 01.11.43 it was rearmed on La-5

Hi,
thank you for the informations.
The predecessor of Dolgushin, then. So he didn't write memoirs. I wonder if the number of his plane is written anywhere.

Quite an interesting exhaust pipe arrangement on that last photo.
What type would two pipes on each side of cowling denote?

Hi,
I've darkened the detail of the fuselage side and I think to see something well compatible with a number 12.

Any thoughts?

Hi,
yes, but there is a small dark area that let seem that the upper part of the second digit is open. It could be a defect of the photo, or it could be real. If it is real, it can be 2 only.
