Very interesting photo. Anyway I think that the plane could be camouflaged as the second one, but the surface was ruined after the cleaning of a winter white layer.

I guess some kind of tape which might have been used to seal off the horizontal stabilizers (which are missing here). This practice was not that uncommon on soviet planes. But I might be wrong, can't say for sure.

Sealing self adhesive tape is very likely. Paint on metal can't be so thick and consistent.
