Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Hi,
seems that white spiral on red prop spinner was quite popular on Yaks at the end of war:

1.) Yak-3, Ermokhin, 402 iap:

2.) Yak-9x, 900 iap:

probably/reportedly this Golovachev's Yak-9M:

3.) Yak-9M, 513 iap:

4.) Somewhere in Bulgaria:

regards,

Hi Misos, I suggest to draw it on your profile of Yak-9 of Golovachev. Maybe it was useful to hypnotize enemy pilots.

Hi Massimo,
that spinner looks black with white spiral like on German Bf-109. However, the face of Golovatchev is also pretty dark, Is it due to filter/photo material and spinner is red?

Hi, I not affirmed this photo with spiral is Golovachev's plane. But we see the spirals used in 900 iap, so very decorated Golovachev's plane should had spiral too. "Highly likely".

And I vote for red color Smiley
And the logic votes too, I think!

to hypnotize enemy pilots.

That's not conventional method of warfare!

Could it be after the war? There is no trace of camouflage, the uppersurface looks uniformly green or dark grey.

Yes, looks like postwar, "бывший командир взвода" means "former platoon commander".
