Hi all,

Referring to the MiG-3 again, the MiG-3 section of the site mentions the installation of the AFA-I camera ( I hope I have the designation correct) in five Mig's.  I can find no pictures or additional information on the camera, but I am interested since I build most of my aircraft as reconnaissance machines.

I am building the Trumpeter 1/48 scale MiG-3, and also wonder if it is known, likely, possible, or impossible that the recce machine "Yellow/blue 9" could have had such a camera?  Does anyone know any further information on such a camera installation?

Thanks, Jim

Hi,  Smiley
unfortunately I haven't further informations on the camera installation. However, I think that some MiG-3s could have been utilized for visual reconaissance.

Hi Massimo,

OK, I had a feeling this would not yield much; thank you anyway.  And I agree with your point about visual reconnaissance.  That is the main reason I am building Yellow 9!

Cheers, Jim
