Is anyone else having problems accessing the vvs.hobbyvista forum? I haven't been able to get into it for about a week, using the link on the vvs.hobbyvista home page. Maybe I've been banned? Maybe I'll be shot as a traitor for asking questions about "the OTHER forum" here?   Grin

Smiley Thanks, Massimo - I'm glad you haven't issued rifles to the firing squad!  Wink

I e-mailed Matt Bittner a couple of hours ago - maybe he's fixed it. If you're out there, THANKS, MATT!!!

Hi, what is happening with the Hobbyvista forum?
Massimo

Yes, it's strange - it's been down for almost a week now. Maybe Matt is doing a major rebuild; I sent him a message last weekend, but I didn't really ask what was happening with the forum, so he hasn't replied.

"These forums are currently closed for upgrade. Please check back later."
I sure hope the stated reason is the truth and not some
type of code or system problem.
I look forward to a triumphant return.

My apologies for it being down so long.  The newest version of the software requires a change on the server-side, which I have no control over.  I'll send one more email to the "person in charge" to try to affect the change, and if not, I will resort back to the old software and old database.

My apologies for this taking so long.  First work, then the US holiday weekend, and now my tasks for Internet Modeler are getting in the way.

Oh, and I've been trying to model as well...  Roll Eyes

Well, Erik Pilawskii has posted an interesting December monthly on the subject of Wing Commander James E. Storrar's RAF-marked Yak-9:
http://vvs.hobbyvista.com/Research/Yakovlev/Storrar/index.php

There's also a brief thread on this topic somewhere on the Britmodeller WWII forum, although Erik's treatment of the subject is obviously much more thorough.

Erik's artricle also includes links to some amazing RAF/FAA model collections, built by the father and son team of Raul and Santiago Hrubisko, whose output is astounding by most people's standards!  Shocked
