A new mold 1/72 MiG-15 sounds promising! Unfortunately, the Yak-9, Pe-2, and Il-2 under "New for 2009" aren't really new at all - they're most likely reissues of those ancient kits from back in the 1960's. Strange that these three VVS types are all being reissued at the same time - maybe Airfix is trying to determine the level of interest in Russian aircraft? They've promised new molds for two versions of Spitfire, a Hurricane, and a Bf-109 - maybe a GPW VVS type will follow in 2010! My vote is for a 1/72 Yak-1b!

Hi, Smiley
thank you for posting the interesting news.
MiG-15 is a nice plane, but they will release it contemporarily to HobbyBoss and Eduard.
I would prefer any other type, maybe Yak-1, as you have rightly written, or MiG-17, or, even better, a new MiG-23 (all the existing kits have some shape defect).
