Looks like Amodel haven't given up on VVS or 1/72 after all:

(Without digging too deeply into my reference books, I think they only built one of this rather odd-looking experimental jet; now, why can't Amodel do the Yak-1b???)

I suppose that the mould has much in common with the Su-9 and Su-11, so it wasn't too expensive.

..indeed it does.  Apart from the parts needed for the nose and intakes, it is the same as the Su-9 kit.  According to my references, this is not strictly accurate, but close enough for most.
