Hi, Smiley
nice plane.
I am wondering if this makes obsolete older kits as Alpha and Zvezda. What is the difference in comparison to the Yak-6 without M, reproduced by old kits ?

Diiference?
As far as i can see only the engine cowlings. M has the same as Yak-18 and non-M same as Yak UT-1 and UT-2. AFAIK most of non-M's had U/C fixed in down position. Jak-8 is a more modified version.
Hopeefully this kits will make old Alfa/Zvezda/etc kits obsolete. I lost my will on Zvezda kit (nose to pointy, wrong shape of windscreen, small parts unusable, rear fuselage canvas cover badly done....)

It looks the description of Alpha kit. Who knows if it's made on the same mould?

These kits are now in stock at Modelimex. They haven't done their usual thorough job of posting sprue images, but there's enough visible through the plastic bags to see that these are new molds, not the ancient ALFA thing:

Just got my Yak-6M? (both versions) and Yak-8 kits.
They are completly new moulds with good interior. I was fearfull that engines will be like on their Yak-18 kit (that is horrible) but they are rather nice.? All versions have retractable U/C which is rather well done. You get entire M-11 engine (seen better), front piece for engine cowling and bulges for cilinder cowlings are separate parts only exoust pipes needs to be scrach built (one of these will go to their Yak-18 kit). By the look of it it seems that sooner or later standard Yak-6 will apear as well (engines, props, spinners and cowlings on separate sprue)? even tough i will convert one to this version (already got 2 Pavla Po-2 sets for this purpose).
Old Alfa/Encore/Zvezda/... kit is completly obsolete now.

Plastic parts and preview in german:

Note:
in Ski version the last sprue containing roof, hatch, ShKAS and interior of passanger cabin is different (not opened and passanger seats are provided instead of other small pats) and skies are added. Yak-8 is basicly the same kit with new fuselage. Decals are identical in all 3 kits.
