hi DGM!
there is given other color plates on their site, but you are right-it's not easy to catch up.
Here goes the direct links to the painting schemes of
Yak-1:
A. Lt.Mikhail Dimitrievich Baranov 183rd IAP http://www.eduard.cz/products/pdf/n11/1115_13.pdf
B. Capt. Georgij Nikanorovich Zhidov 123rd IAP http://www.eduard.cz/products/pdf/n11/1115_14.pdf
C. Lt.Gabenko Stepan Tichonovich 247th IAP http://www.eduard.cz/products/pdf/n11/1115_15.pdf
D. Lt.Innokentij Vasiljevich Kuznetsov 180th IAP http://www.eduard.cz/products/pdf/n11/1115_16.pdf
E. Nikolaj Vasiljevich Cagojko 122nd IAP http://www.eduard.cz/products/pdf/n11/1115_17.pdf
F. UNKNOWN UNIT http://www.eduard.cz/products/pdf/n11/1115_18.pdfAs to Baranov's Yak-1, I think in this case is close to the fact. The only what I would change is that the inscription on the right board would make as well red with white outline as on the left one. Could not find reason why same time making inscription would make it to look different!
As well the victory stars on left board should be on the green camo pattern except the left upper star and one lower, that were painted on black camo.
B. For very beautiful Yak-1 of Zhidov painting scheme the only what would change to my oppinion is the spinner to paint in black. Otherwise I have not noticed anything suspicious.
C. The profile of a/c of Gabenko is in Stankovs's album. BTW the surname is GabeLko and is given with nr. white 9.
D. Yak-1 of Kuznetsov I remember have seen it somewhere, but could not find. The picture of it would be appreciated.
E. Tsagoiko Yak-1 with nice decorations has not been traced by me in any picture. The profile seem to be sourced from
http://avia-hobby.ru/publ/sovaces/color/M_Z/Tsagoiko.html. Where says that the picture was traced in archive.
F. Yak-1 with unusual big "white 2" looks very interesting but not familiar for me.
and for Yak-1b:
A. Yak-1b of Capt. Pavel Maximovich Chuvilev http://www.eduard.cz/products/pdf/n11/1117_13.pdfB. Yak-1b of escadrille ?Free Donbass? http://www.eduard.cz/products/pdf/n11/1117_14.pdfC. Yak-1b of St.Lt. Viktor Fedorovich Korobov http://www.eduard.cz/products/pdf/n11/1117_15.pdfD. Yak-1b (serial. No.08146) of Major Yakov Nazarovich Kutikhin http://www.eduard.cz/products/pdf/n11/1117_16.pdfA. The picture of Yak-1b Chuvilev could be find in Stankov's Yak album
B. Quite known a/c and profile.
C. I suppose have seen it somewhere but have no evidence on hands
D. Kutihin Yak's profile resembles very much the one in Stankovs' album. Picture could be found over there
The kits of both Yaks and I-16 looks very attractive. Should I put aside my 1/72 and try 1/48 instead?
DGM please keep informing the board about those kits after you receive and start building them.
