Anyone know what scale, and when it will be available? Thanks in advance!

the Authentic Decals sheet for the Il-2 (72-14) is available and I am waiting for it in 1/48(48-14)
so they will probably do the same thing for this one.

I hope they do it in 1/48 and that ICM will continue the 'Hot streak' and do the Tbilisi Oblegchenniy as a follow-on the the existing kits. (48091 & 48093)

The LaGG-3 decal thread on Scalemodels.ru has really taken off - it's already up to three pages. The "author" of the decals says 1/72 will be released in March, with 1/48 to follow later. Guess I'd better finish my Borovkov-Florov I-207 fast, and get ready to build some LaGGs!

Lengthy article by "Foxbot" (the person who designed it), regarding this new LaGG-3 decal sheet (I expect mine possibly late this week!):

Praise and honours to him, and let's hope he and Authentic do many more VVS GPW decal sets! (Especially in 1/72 scale! Wink )

Today I received the Authentic 1/72 LaGG-3 decals (sheet No.72-25), and they are beautiful! There are 16 options (not 10 as printed on the header card), which are shown in the Scalemodels.ru thread linked in my first post. The decals are printed in perfect register. Also included are enough stencil markings for at least two aircraft, one set in red, the other in white. Obviously these are very tiny in 1/72 scale, but they're there for those with enough skill to use them. This is a great piece of work - my only reservation is the black-and-white instruction sheet, which is relatively small and quite crowded (remember - 16 options!); however, careful study (and possibly enlarging it on a photocopier) makes everything clear. Compliments to the authors of this sheet, A. Pawlygin (Foxbot) and Alexander Ruchkovsky (AR44) - I hope they'll do many more VVS GPW decal sheets in the future (as it hints in the very interesting article here:)

I also received the new AML 1/72 "Yakovlev Yak-1 and 7 Early Series" decals (AMLD 72 014). These are shown on the AML web site, here:
http://www.aml.cz/en/AD7214-1.html
Markings for 7 different aircraft with full colour instructions, plus a small photoetch set with seatbelts for at least two aircraft. This sheet is well printed, to AML's usual fine standards (no silver ink on this one, though!). I was a bit worried before I actually had the sheet in my hands - an image I saw somewhere on the Internet made it appear that the white ink used was very thin, but this is not the case - in reality, the decals look to have quite a good layer of ink, and should cover the underlying camouflage colour satisfactorily.

So, two excellent new decal sheets for VVS GPW modelbuilders! I guess now I'd better get busy on the Dako LaGG-3 series 66 and the Amodel Yak-1 which are both almost ready to paint...  Wink
