Amazingly how paint was preserved on some Il-2s and Yaks...

Thanks a lot for the link Aleksandar, great images. This is the one I like the most: http://ktsorens.tihlde.org/flyvrak/vaddasgaisa.html There?s a clear image of a soviet red star painted over the remains of a PRU Blue painted Spitfire wing.
Greetings.

Hi,
some are particularly interesting.

http://ktsorens.tihlde.org/flyvrak/pinemyra.html
This was discussed at arcforum. The first impression is of a green/brown plane, but there is a dark grey band close to the aileron (in more or less standard position) that have turned into light grey and can be mismatched for aluminium. This type of deterioration of wrecks could explain why people thinks that Soviet planes were camouflaged as those of the RAF.
