Information obtained on sovietwarplanes forum led me to believe this famous machine (with the eagle motif on vertical stabilizer) was a straight-wing two-seater.

But, Viktor Publishing "Il-2 part_02" states it as a "so strelykoi". Which is correct?

Also, is the NKAP three-tone upper scheme 100% confirmed on this one?

Do you have a timeframe for this machine?

Autumn 1944 - April 1945

Given the time frame, it should definitely have the three-colour scheme, which started being introduced from the middle of 1943 onwards.  Given the late date, unless you have a photograph that shows the outer wings to be straight, it's probably an arrow (swept-wing), perhaps (maybe probably?) with metal wings.

Authentic Decals, researched by Alex Ruchkovskyi, show this a/c as swept wing, East Prussia, beginning of 1945. 3-color NKAP scheme. I'd believe that.

Thank you very much for the info. Does anyone know which publication has the highest quality photos of this machine?
