... there are NO flying Yak-9's anywhere in the world at this time.
The truth is that
only one real WWII Yak-9 survived to this day: it is an early Yak-9 attrbuted to HSU Kleshchev. It was preserved at the OKB Yakovlev museum, now it's displayed at the Zadorozhni's museum in Moscow.
Two postwar (1945-46) Yak-9Us with VK-107 engines and wooden wings are preserved in Monino museum and in MoF in Seattle.
Four all metal, postwar (1946-47) Yak-9Ps are preserved in Europe: one in Warsaw, one in Gdansk, one in Belgrade and one in Plovdiv. One more is preserved in Pyongyang, North Korea.
Hopefully they will stay in museums i.e. they will not be restored to flying condition.KL
