This drawing reproduces a DB-3 of the first series built in Zavod n.39 in 1938.

All the planes of the first serie were characterized by a grey livery with yellowish green wing and tail uppersurfaces, probably with national insignas over and under the wings and on fuselage sides according to the prevar style. The canopy and turret frames were probably unpainted.

The plane bears three VAP-500 phosphorus/gas discharge pods.

Below, photos of the planes s/n 3039002, 390905 and 3039090 with pods. The planes seem to have the landing gear legs, and perhaps the nacelles, painted in different way.
