This drawing reproduces this DB-3, white 3, as appearing in a technical movie of the VVS in 1943. Unit and place are not known.

The plane is of the early narrow-type canopy, but its back turret has been updated with the more recent ball-type MV-3.

The plane wears a semigloss black/green/light blue livery, with a white 3 on its rudder; the red stars have a thin white outline.

Although not the same plane (see the drop-shaped aerial) this DB-3T looks to have a resemblant camouflage and was taken as a base to trace the left side of the nose of the drawing.
