The fuselage of Il-10 was partly made with an armoured steel shell
(grey areas), parly made with unarmoured aluminium alloy. Differently than
Il-2, the gunner was included in the armoured volume.
The armour protected the engine, tanks, coolers and crew from fire from below and sides, not from above. |

Lights
The landing light
was on the left wing only.

Left: the tail cone ends with the tail position light, that whas white. Below: the wing position lights were above and below the wingtips; as usual, the left ones were red, the right ones were blue-green.
