The last man sitting is the mechanic who was sent to penalty squad
after that his pilot stole an I-16 and deflected to Germans.

6-th man from the left is Mikhail Pomorov.
Regiment commander captain Belyaev. He wears a standard green
uniform.
Deputy of the regiment commander Klimenko, HSU, former a Sturmovik
pilot, was retrained as a fighter pilot, but was very rarely in the skies.
He was mainly an administration worker, though a very good one.
His medals:
on the left – 1 000 000 km in the air(GVF symbol), guards symbol, red
star order;
on the right – golden star, order of Lenin, 2 red banners.
Rossikhin of 3rd squadron. Being a great pilot, with a few kills on
his account, he was greatly demanded by Il pilots as cover since he was
among the safest fighter coverers in the regiment.
Mechs prepare an aircraft for battle.
Yaks were painted matt steel-gray, red stars on fuselage and tailfin
without outlining. Numbers mostly white. (main Tikhomirov's planes were
n.12, 21, 75).
The belly was either very lightly gray, or sky blue.

Note that pilots wear naval uniform, which is black with brass buttons.
The man on the left is a correspondant.
Sitting: Deputy commander of 9th ShAD colonel Rakov, Deputy of IAP
commander Belyaev, Commander of 2 squad Alimpiev.
Commanding officers of naval aviation also wore black uniforms.
White spinner was a symbol of 2 squadron, while 1st sq. had red spinners
and 3rd Sq. had sky blue spinners.

2squad. Pilot Shishikin was killed in July 1944 on a reconnaissance
mission.
This pilot was sent with Barsukov for reconnaissance mission over an
enemy airfield. When Tikhomirov took off as a covering flight leader his
engine blew, so he had to make forced landing. His wingman landed as well.
Remaining covering pair lost the recce flight in the clouds, and its pilots
never returned.
