2 squad commander c-n Petruhin. He was killed 13. nov 1943 on Il cover mission.
This was the first commander of Tikhomirov, and he was lost in a first Tikhomirov's flight. He He had taken part to the Winter war.

Flight technitian Voronin (Extremely strong man – he put screws by his fingers so hard, that no one could get it even with screwdriver. He also knew airplane so well, that pilots used to wake him in the middle of the night and ask question about engine for fun. He never missed),

Pilot Doroshenko. He was killed on 16 Sept.1944 on Il covering mission over the Vyborg gulf. After fight he was sent home due to fuel shortage with an order to fly low. His flight leader ordered him to go over 2000m, where they were spotted and intercepted by FW-190s. The flight leader returned, but this man was shot down.

Only 6 pilots of this group survived up to June 1945
Last man (no flight uniform) was pilot Chernienko He was famous among other pilots as a hunter and for his passion for motorcycles. He could start a bike on  midnight  in the attic of a pilots barrack.
 


The armored glass behind pilot's head was an option, installed by personal demand. It was not there on new aircraft, but factory made optionals were available in 3 types of glass of different thickness, and 2 bits of metal armor with different shape and thickness, which could be installed by mechs.
