Iran acquired ten Polikarpov R-5 reconnaissance aircraft from the Soviet Union in 1933, but this type was not very popular amongst Persian pilots. The image shows a plane with arabic numeral 22. The color is much lighter than on Soviet planes of the period, and was likely some light brown. The spinner looks of the sharper type.
