This UT-2M was a test aircraft flown by test pilot A.V. Sinelnikov of Air Force Scientific Institute (NII VVS) in 1942. UT-2M was tested and utilized as a night intruder aside UT-1b.

The photos show the plane with four bombs (probaby some version of FAB-50), two under the wings and two between the landing gear legs, in a more forward position. The first photo gives the false impression of one long bomb because two ones are perspectically overposed. The body of the bombs look unpainted or light blue, while the empennages and front are darker, perhaps green. Note the very compressed tyres.

Another reason of interest of the photos is their help to determine the pattern of the factory black-green camouflage of the type.
