Yak-3 from 18 giap, 303 iad, Germany, spring 1945

 

 



The aircraft is camouflaged according to the NKAP 1943 order with blue-grey AMT-11 and dark grey AMT-12 on the upper surfaces with light blue AMT-7 on the bottom surfaces.

The lightning on the both fuselage sides was divisional marking at that time. At the page with the source photos http://ava.org.ru/iap/18g.htm almost all aircraft from 1945 have white board number and lightning.

In case of b.n. “24” both the number and the lightning have almost the same shade of grey, but different from red star and its white outline. Neither it is glossy, e.g. silver. Light blue would have a little contrast on blue-grey camouflage color. The yellow color seems to be likely.

The lightning seems to have only one slash along the entire width of the lightning, not forked end. It looks more like some blotch - some primer or repair at the lower part of the end of lightning:
