Post by: 66misos on May 27, 2020, 12:52:17 PM
Hi,
new Yak-9D under preparation https://www.facebook.com/modelsvit/posts/2666066990329002?__tn__=-R (https://www.facebook.com/modelsvit/posts/2666066990329002?__tn__=-R):

From their FB page:
"Below you can find first test shots of the new Yak-9D, being fully 3D designed! In few months we expect to be ready with the other sprues, decals and photo-etch sheet."

No there is not. I know the plane have been received at the same time than the Lefevre's famous père magloire, in Agust of 1943

I know by a document the de la Poype's plane was had the number 4. I imagine those plane were given by the 18 IAD so it could wear the lightning wich was the 18IAD planes used to carry
(it was in fact the 303 regiment symbol.)

There are other yak-9 of the first campaign with the ligtning

I see a strange white painting on the photo of plane 14. Could it be a shark, or just a defect of the paper?

Hello  :)

it is a tree branch placed on this part of the wing which gives this impression

Hi Steph,
good photo.

About the painting overposed to the Z of the bolt: I can't understand it.  What could it be?

Massimo

Hi Massimo! You mean as discussed here?

Apparently it's the logo of a Normandy distiller of apple brandy, Pere Magloire.

Here's the company's current logo, "Pere Magloire" himself, although from a different angle:

These Modelsvit Yak-9s look nice! I'll have to lodge my normal lament of why can't they do these in the gentleman's scale (1/72nd)? I see that they've done not only the Yak-9DD, but the Yak-9T, and the Yak-9TD. Oh to see these in 1/72nd scale...

Regards,

Jason

There is a thread over at HS that contains some shots of a test build of the upcoming Yak-9D.  Can't hardly wait.  8)

Interesting model, looks very well made. A vacuform canopy would help to make a slided back hood.

This latest release is supposed to be more detailed than the previous Modelsvit Yak-9 series kits (which were already very good), although I haven't tried to compare the ones I've got with any sprue photos on the Internet, yet. The new kit (catalog No.4809) is somewhat more expensive than previous Modelsvit Yak-9s, so I hope it's worth it. I'm probably going to pre-order one from Modelimex - even if it's not 1/72, it's still a Yak-9!   ;)

I wasn't aware of the future release of the series of Yak-7s shown in the Hyperscale thread, so thank you for that! Will I buy them? Hmmm - I don't know. If they were 1/72, I'd do it in a heartbeat, but 1/48... Beautiful they may be, but I know they'd never get built!  ::)
