Hi

Having a mass purchase of 1/72nd VVS aircraft currently, or more accurately any soviet aircraft from 1918 to 1945 by any manufacturer. I found an MPM KOR-1 knocking about cheaply, and my questions are these :

Is the KOR-1 to all intents and purposes a Be-2? If so, I'd like to model this kit on the example here -

http://www.aviation.ru/Be/Be-2.jpg

What paint colour is represented on the glossy upper surfaces here? Presumably a modern paint scheme, but I'm not sure. Any advice welcomed.

Incidentally, Beriev's website lists the KOR-1 as 'in service untill 1942 under mark Be-6' : [edited to add -on the site's 'photos' tab]

http://www.beriev.com/eng/core_e.html

Curious or what?

Hi, Smiley
my documents on this type are extremely poor, I would say unexistant. I found only a good photo on Red Star of Geust etc., and an indication on an old writing of Pilawskii that gives silver or light grey AE-9 (FS(2)5630) for naval planes in the early stage of war.
I had a look to the site of Beriev, I see that in one page they correctly called Kor-1 as Be-2. Probably they made a banal error in some other page.
I hope that this helps

Thank you, sir. Most helpful.

Yes indeed, the website lists KOR-1 as being both Be-2 and Be-6 on seperate pages. Looking around for a model KOR-2 if one exists. Doubtful, presumably.

Thanks again.

From what i gather they are for all intents and purposes the same plane wit that the KOR-1 is shipborne float equipped scout plane and Be-2 is land based version of the same plane. It was rather rare bird in both versions.
