Hello all,

I am searching for good reference photos of  the Alekseyev KM Ekranoplan, a.k.a  ?the Caspian Monster?. I traversed the internet, but all I get are some broad views and/or lo-rez images. There is very little in terms of details that can be distilled from these photos, especially if one considers the size of the craft. The other Caspian giant, the Lun is in contrast very well documented.

I want to believe that someone, somewhere photographed this machine in detail, before it was destroyed.

I also have the book by Komissarov & Gordon on the topic of Ekranoplans, but again I am not impressed with the amount of material on the KM.

If anyone can share a hint, a nice close up photo, or a less basic line drawing, I?ll be very happy. Again I am looking for something  more than in the following links:

Cheers,

Aleks

True, not much on the internet...
Try this one: http://army.lv/ru/korabl-maket/foto/2407/497/1
Mostly widely published photos and movie stills, but there are some production photos and stills showing cockpit:

Thanks KL!

This is a nice collection of movie stills and photos. I discovered some new details, like the railing that goes along the spine of the fuselage for example.

Still, there are much more details to discover. Around the cockpit and front fuselage there seems to be  an array of antennas, sensors  and other small gadgets that are frustratingly out of reach on these photos.  Engine nacelles are another enigma.

The Anigrand kit of the KM is a staggering piece of resin, but it seems they worked with very limited information as well, since I can already see inaccuracies and a lot of missing detail. It is a big canvas to fill, so to speak...

Cheers,
Aleks
