This photo of plane White 91 of 3 GvIAP KBF was probably taken in summer 1943 (summer 1944 according to other sources), while taking off from Lavansaari, in the Gulf of Finland.

The photo shows the standard green-black camouflage with standard red stars.

The white spinner and rudder were characteristic of many units in this area.

The plane was a transitional plane between La-5 and La-5F: the rear fuselage is still of the 'razorback' type, but the logo on the nose says that this plane had an ASh-82F engine. Besides the bort number 91 shows the wide fonts that became characteristic of all later grey-grey La-5F, FN and 7, probably with a blue outline.

The top view is based on the usual camouflage of La-5s.
