This drawing represents the Curtiss P-40 E White 50 of Maj. P.A. Pokryshev ,154th IAP, in Leningrad area, 1942. It is mainly based on the photo below.

 

Other images of Maj. Pokryshev. He was made Hero of the Soviet Union on February 10, 1943 and for the second time on August 24, 1944, when he was commander of the 159th IAP. He reached a total od 22 personal victories and 7 shared ones.

On the background of the first one, we see the white spinner and the Dupont camouflage of his (or similar) P-40E. The second one shows well the asymmetry of the mirror on the frames.

On the photo above, Pokryshev poses close to the similar plane n.65 of the commander of the 154th IAP, A.A. Matveyev. Note the arrangement of the wire aerial: from the fin to the back of the fuselage, and to the right wingtip. This arrangement changed between planes.
