Back to MiG-3 Main

This is my MiG 3 of Hobby Boss that I found quite agreeable to build.

I tried to improve it by rescribing some of the panel lines and by riveting the wing roots. I also drilled the recesses of the guns in the forward fuselage.

The cockpits was also improved by adding the tubular structure on the two sides, the consoles, the instrument panel, the sighting device and the seat belts, all in scratch.

I choose to depict the aircraft that belonged to 38 PAE (Air Recognition Regiment) from PVO (Home Air Defence) of Moscow in 1941. The camo was done freehand using a Holbein Neo Hohmi airbrush and Humbol paints. I choose no to use decals in this project painting instead the stars and the bort number on masks cut from Tamiya masking tape.
