This aircraft is shown on a "Red Star" Russian videotape; many aircraft with such camouflage are visible, many with only minor differences in painting scheme and some without identification numbers. A similar example with a white "40" on the fuselage is visible too, as are aircraft with a different shape of dark "band" over the rear fuselage, and even an aircraft with an overall green rear fuselage. This aircraft is believed to belong to 401 IAP, Moscow front, summer 1941.

The illustrated aircraft features:
  • probably late type, with slats;
  • no radio mast;
  • three-shade camouflage, green, dark green (or strongly faded black) and black, with dark green (or faded black) spinner; the engine cowling is all black
  • apparently "white" stars, but it's probably an effect of the film type; I suppose the stars are red.
