Left: photos of an abandoned late MiG-3 examined by German soldiers, probably in spring 1942.
Its most interesting characteristic is the large number 4, painted over the star with a washable white color that has partially been washed by the rain.

Its characteristics look to be:

  • late type, probably with slats;
  • apparently without radio mast and sliding canopy;
  • inert gas pipe on the left side exhaust stack;
  • green/faded black camo, modified with fresh black;
  • a large white 4 is overposed to the tail red star; it is heavily worn, having probably been painted with winter white distemper.
