Pavel Yakovlevich Golovachev Ivan was born in December 15, 1917. He participated in fights of GPW since June 1941 with 168 iap. He was transferred to well-known 69 iap (in March 1942 renamed to 9 giap) in October 1941 where he flew LaGG-3, Yak-1, P-39 and La-7.

From February 1945 until the end of WWII he flew Yak-9 within 900 iap.

He was awarded by the first Gold medal of Hero of Soviet Union in November 1943 and his second Gold Medal of HSU he achieved in June 1945. His total official score during WWII was 31 (30) individual and 1 (0) group victories.

The plane was camouflaged according to the NKAP 1943 order, e.g. blue-grey AMT-11 and dark grey AMT-12 on the upper surfaces with the light blue AMT-7 on the under surfaces. The white cap on the tail is regimental marking. Score painted on the fuselage shows 31 victories.
