Alexandr Vasilievich Oborin was born in 1908. He served in the red Army since
the year 1929. He fought on the Eastern fronts since July 1941. He flew on I-16,
Yak-1, Yak-7 and finally on P-39. He destroyed Bf-109 by his first taran in
Yak-1 in September 1942. His second taran in P-39 on August 7, 1944 was his
last – he hit He-111 and was killed in age of 36, that time as a commander
of 438 iap (air fighter regiment) belonged to 205 iad (air fighter division).
He was posthumously awarded Hero of Soviet Union on April 10, 1945.
According to M. Bykov he achieved 13 individual and 13 shared victories.
White diagonal stripe and blue propeller spinner was the fast recognition marking
for 438 iap (renamed to 212 giap on Nov 27, 1944).
