There exist many profile pages on the MiG-3, so I have chosen to draw examples that are not already represented elsewhere, or are represented in a rare source, or when I have some further information or interpretation on a known aircraft.
All of the reasonable doubts surrounding each interpretation are explained, and where possible, the photos are enclosed; this could be difficult to read, but I think it's a demonstration of the care I have tried to use.
No MiG-3 is perfectly documented; all the photos are b/w, many of poor quality,
and one must assume that the aircraft painting is broadly symmetrical; as a
possibility, many anonymous examples could have a slogan or a Stalin portrait
on the hidden side.
